As I mentioned in the post here, my Botanica Obscura print exhibit has moved to the¬†North Puget Cancer Center At United General Hospital In Sedro Wooley, WA. I was pretty happy that two prints has sold before I had hung the exhibit, but while I was installing the mounting hardware in the hospital’s hallway, a hospital employee walked by and stopped to look. A third sale! I hadn’t even gotten the images up on the wall yet. But something that totally caught me off guard happened…

A very, hmm, how should I say this? A very interesting thing. When I first responded to the Call For Artists, I sent the link to the¬†Botanica Obscura¬†gallery for review. The organizer had looked at the work, but then must have perused the rest of my site and come across the IX/XI Gallery and associated¬†IX/XI: My Images From That Day¬†gallery. She walked up to me and said “I was just in NYC and went to see the World Trade Center Monument, and I looked and found the building you worked in.” There I was hanging art in a small cancer center in a small town in Washington State, and I got jerked out of the moment into another place. Surreal. Not good or bad. Surreal.
