Back up in Bellingham this time to work on the Say A Prayer music video which will be part of the marketing and soundtrack for the Good Time Girls film. The song is by singer/songwriter Sarah Goodin, and plaintive it is. Even after hearing it played over and over for five hours while shooting, it still reverberated strongly with me…
This dolly shot was capture with a Canon 5D MkII and an EF 50mm/f1.2. I love this lens, especially wide open. The bokeh it produces and the color reproduction is just stunning. Look how the out-of-focus areas are smooth and pleasing. I really like how the guitar strings look like they are vibrating even when they are not. Gorgeous.
Please note: audio in this video was used solely to cue the artist and is not indicative of the studio recording.

The building, in true historical Good Time Girls fashion, was once a brothel back in the wilder days of 1800s Bellingham. The video is slated for release on 12/24/2013, but in the meantime you can get updates at the Good Time Girls Film Blog.
