Letterpress Printing Class at THE ARM in Brooklyn

I’ve been wanting to take a letterpress class for a long time–something about the look and feel of a well-printed piece of work that really appeals to my sense of design. Then I discovered the masters…

Studio On Fire in Minneapolis. Take a minute and look at their blog, Beast Pieces. Unreal. So much talent in that one studio.

So I decided to take the introductory letterpress class at The Arm in Brooklyn. We first started out on the Vandercook presses with wooden type, then tried out lead type on two smaller platen presses. I loved it.

Here’s one of the pieces I made, lyrics from Fugazi’s Waiting Room off of the album Thirteen Songs.
