As I mentioned in the post here, my Botanica Obscura print exhibit has moved to the North Puget Cancer Center At United General Hospital In Sedro Wooley, WA. I was pretty happy that two prints has sold before I had hung the exhibit, but while I was installing the mounting hardware in the hospital’s hallway, a hospital employee walked by and stopped to look. A third sale! I hadn’t even gotten the images up on the wall yet. But something that totally caught me off guard happened…

A very, hmm, how should I say this? A very interesting thing. When I first responded to the Call For Artists, I sent the link to the Botanica Obscura gallery for review. The organizer had looked at the work, but then must have perused the rest of my site and come across the IX/XI Gallery and associated IX/XI: My Images From That Day gallery. She walked up to me and said “I was just in NYC and went to see the World Trade Center Monument, and I looked and found the building you worked in.” There I was hanging art in a small cancer center in a small town in Washington State, and I got jerked out of the moment into another place. Surreal. Not good or bad. Surreal.
